Welcome Aboard!

What a fantastic first week of school!  We spent the week practicing our rules and procedures, listening to lots of stories and learning the games we will be playing in Math Stations.

We will be getting into our daily routine this week.  (Yea!)  Folders and planners will be coming home Monday.  Please check your child's folder and sign their planner nightly.  For now, homework will be to read for 15 minutes each night.  Please help your child remember to bring their folder and planner to school every day!  If you have any questions or concerns or need to notify me of a change in dismissal, there is a place in the planner or you can just place a note in the left pocket of the folder.  I will check both daily!

A big thank you, parents, for all of the school supplies, hand sanitizer and tissues.  We can never have too many boxes of crayons or boxes of tissues and each item sent in is greatly appreciated!

Don't forget to sign up for Remind 101 if you would like to receive text messages with important notifications and reminders.  If you need our code again, just let me know!

Here are a few pictures from our week for you to enjoy!

We practiced Math Stations and are ready to do them independently next week!

We completed our first STEM activity.  We had to figure out a way to help the lunch lady get us through the line quickly.  We will be doing a STEM activity most Wednesday afternoons for Science and Math!  I will send home more information about STEM soon.
After reading First Day Jitters, we had some Jitter Juice to help with our jitters.  Ask your student who had the jitters in the story.  We were surprised!
I am looking forward to week #2 and hope your student is too!
Ms. Gilbert
