What a GREAT first week of First Grade! I wonder if the kids were as exhausted as I was;-). We worked hard on practicing our routines, rules and procedures. We read lots of jungle and back to school stories, made monkeys, practiced going to Reading Group, created our SLOG, did Calendar Math and learned The Story of 4. Thanks to Hurricane Irene, we even had a reason to practice a Code Green and learned how to avoid the big puddles in our hallway!
Next week we will start Reading Groups and really get into the first grade curriculum. Binders will be coming home on Monday. Remember to check it nightly and bring it to school every day!
I hope everyone had a fantastic first week in first grade. I know I did and am looking forward to the next 175 days!
